Weicon launches first sustainable stripping tool line worldwide

Muenster, May 23th, 2022 – The Muenster-based family business Weicon, which offers a comprehensive range of stripping tools in addition to special products for industrial applications, recently launched a tool series made from sustainable raw materials – the Weicon Tools Green Line.

What can we do to enable a sustainable future? That is a question not only many people ask themselves in regards to their own behaviour today, but also more and more companies. Among them is the Muenster-based company Weicon, which now, in addition to its standard range, offers sustainable stripping tools under the label Weicon Tools – consisting of up to 97 percent renewable raw materials.

Green material

Just like the classic line in blue, the Green Line tools, which were developed in cooperation with experts, include various cable knives, wire strippers, cable strippers and multi-purpose strippers. In total, the Green Line features fourteen different tools.

And the material used does not only look green: It is recyclable and based on vegetable oils as well as natural waxes, fibres and minerals. Furthermore, it runs through a closed CO2 cycle, is largely produced without the use of finitely available crude oil, has polyamide-like properties and is produced with green electricity.

Ralph Weidling, CEO of Weicon, on the newly developed tools line: "A little over two years ago, we already replaced the plastic packaging of our tools with cardboard. Now, we are the first company worldwide to introduce a line of stripping tools made from renewable raw materials to the market. For us, this is the next step towards a sustainable future. And another important aspect: The Green Line is in no way inferior to our classic line in terms of its excellent quality."

Responsible production

All Weicon Tools – not just the Green Line – are produced almost entirely with energy generated in-house by photovoltaic systems. Furthermore, the manufacturing process takes place in a resource-saving production chain. That means that faulty tools as well as the sprue produced during injection moulding are remelted at the beginning of the production chain.

About Weicon Tools

Since 1967, Weicon has been developing, producing and distributing an extensive range of stripping tools under the brand name Weicon Tools.

This range includes cable strippers, wire strippers, stripping tools and multi-purpose strippers. The tools were developed for the precise, fast and safe stripping of all common cable types. They carry the GS quality seal by the TÜV Nord and were developed considering occupational safety aspects.

The tools are tailored specifically to the needs of professional users, and are also suitable for crafts and industrial applications as well as for domestic use.
